Our Happy 4th Of July!!!

We had a VERY busy 4th of July....We started out at the Dieterich Village Parade/Celebration, then we spent most of the evening at our friend's (the Kastl's) home, where the boys swam the whole time, and then we ended with fireworks....Here is some photos of our day!

This is what yesterday was all about!
Gabe with his hand over his heart......he did this on his own.
The Parade Marshall and his Rooster!!
Abby and her friend Erin......We stood in front of the post office which was near the beginning of the parade.....
Uncle Sam made his appearance........
Beau with his bag of candy.......All three boys filled up a gallon size baggie with candy (plus we got huggies, pens, cups, notepads, sun lotion and beads)
Only in Dieterich can you see a Rooster on the hood of a car......And this was no ordinary car....It's the Barnyard Bingo car!!!
Your "token" Redneck Monster Truck that thinks it's a Fire Truck!!
Gabe having a great time......
Ali joined us too.....except she did not get the memo about wearing red, white or blue....
OK....here are our firework photos.....Usually we are soooooo far away that we really can't get the full effects (you know the traffic, smoke from fireworks, the smell from the fireworks, the booms that make your heart skip a beat, etc.). This year we braved the crowds, parked at the mall and walked to the area they were setting them off (Believe it or not....this was Brian's idea....and yes I checked to make sure he did not have a fever!). Once they began we realized we were behind a tree so we picked up our chairs and we ended up in the middle of the road!! They had it blocked off and we were RIGHT under them. Really it was the best show we have seen in a long time. Ben and Gabe loved it!!

You can see the ones that they are setting off on the ground, that's how close we were......

Love this one.....It was completely black out so I waited for a firework to go off and then took this....Since I don't use my flash when taking fireworks that's why this is a little "yellowish". See Shakes to the far left. We took her and she hated every moment of it!! :) Brian had to wrap her in a blanket and hold her tight.

We had a great day.......
