Anyone know Danny Bobo?

A funny story with Ben.....

The other day he was complaining that he was sooooo bored. Brian and I were telling him things he could do.....clean room, TV, computer, game boy, etc. Then Brian suggested that he go learn how to fix elevators!!! To that Ben says "No.....that's Danny Bobo's job!". WHAT???

We got to thinking about this then we remembered that on our trip to Alabama last month we saw a certificate in our hotel's elevator saying that Danny Bobo was the inspector of the evevator!! Brian and I just started laughing and could not believe he remembered that. I even took a photo (imagine that!) of the certificate.

So do you think Danny is my relative???? Maybe????

Total Lunar Eclipse....

We got to see the Total Lunar Eclipse the other night (Wednesday). The next one is not supposed to happen until December 2010. Luckily is was a clear night and it was pretty cool to see. I did take some photos but they did not turn out as good as I would have liked but here they are......Double click on the photos are you can see them better.

Brian Update.....

Well we went and met with Brian's cancer doctor this morning and it really was not the news we were expecting. He had a CT scan last week and apparently his thymus gland (where the cancer was) is larger then it was last month! He does not believe it's still cancer but wants to have it checked into more. So another PET scan next week, appt. with him again and then we see the doctor in Springfield that did his 1st biopsy and may have another one done in the next few weeks. He is "thinking" that the thymus is just reacting to the chemo, but Brian and I agree that we need to check out everything at this point. So continue your prayers and good thoughts.

Gabe did this at school last week. It's so cute. It says "In the snow I like to snowball "fite" with my snowman"! If you double click on the photo you will be able to see the details better of the "artwork".

The kids did not have school today due to President's day. Abby starts Driver's Ed tommorrow after school and Wednesday we go back to Brian's cancer doctor for hopefully a great report and we will not have to go back for awhile (Prayers are need for this!!!). We will update that night.

What Helps You Feel Better??

A TEXAS size Donut!!! Today Gabe was not feeling real well. He has been coughing for a day or so and was just feeling yucky so I kept him at home with me. We needed to go to the grocery for a few things and of course he "needed" a donut. This is what he picked out...a Texas donut. Isn't it huge? It's the size of his head. I just went and checked on him and he has only eaten maybe 1/4 of the donut. He said he's saving the rest for later!!! :)

Today is also Shake's "Birthday". We got her 3 years ago today. I wanted a Diamond for Valentine's day that year...instead I got a DOG!!! She got to celebrate with a HUGE bone.

Getting Valentines Ready!!

Gabe and Ben both worked on their Valentine's last night for their school party on Thursday. We found these really neat FUN Dip Valentines that are both a card and candy!! Quick and Easy!!

Abby's Band Concert (and other stuff)....

We attended Abby's Winter Band Concert on Thursday night. They sounded great! The Women's Chorus and Co-ed Chorus also performed. They had a huge crowd and because we came late we were in the back on the Hearts Rock Cafe. Not a good night for photos but here is one that did come out (I love the back lighting...don't you??). Abby did not like their outfits and would not allow me to take her photo!!

Our weekend was non-eventful, which is great and the way we like them. It was really nice (around 45 all weekend and sunny) and Brian and I almost wished we had gone camping!! We can't wait for warmer weather. It's been a long winter for us. Brian goes for his "baseline" CT scan this Wednesday and then to the Doctor next week for hopefully a great report!

I am going to start working in Brian's office this week (I really went in on last Friday). I am going to start doing the bills and statements. Should be interesting, I hope the "Boss" is nice to me!!! :) I'll only work a few hours a day so I will still be available to help with the kids' schools and all the fun stuff I like to do. Brian tells me he is looking forward to me working next to him (Our desks are next to each others!!).

The Candy Kiss Bandit.....

Totally random post.....A few days ago Brian had a bag of hersey's kisses sitting on a table. I was sitting on my chair and I happened to have my camera on my lap. Ben started talking to Abby who was sitting at the computer desk and I watched him slowly reach his hand into the bag of kisses (he knows they are dad's and off limits). I did not even put my camera put to my eye and a snapped this photo as he grabs some and ran!!

Just thought I would share photos of Shakes and Hugo. They really are good dogs. Hugo goes tommorrow (Monday) to get "fixed!!". YEAH!!!!

Today was a day of cleaning up the house and then we just hung out. We made a cake (vanilla with chocolate icing) and cookies (oatmeal chocolate chip). Brian is switching back from Star Trek (they are having a marathon day!!) and the Super Bowl. It's been another weird weather day as we had thunderstorms (with lightening) earlier. Most of the snow is melted in the yard.

The kids got their "snow day" yesterday (Friday) because of the approx. 4-6 inches we got the other day. They have been in the snow several times since. Beau and Gabe are both feeling much better. We need some warmer weather so I can "air out" our house of all these germs.

We went out with Carmen, Jackie, Todd and Lisa last night for dinner at Rexroats then to the

K of C Hall. I don't think we have laughed that hard in months (or aleast it seems like it). Everyone had such funny stories to tell. It was really fun and nice to get together with everyone.

Abby had a Freshman Tournament game this AM. They won and got 5th place all together. Todd and Molly came to watch her which I thought was really nice. She does have another game tonight (JV game that is a make up game from Thursday night).

The rest of our weekend we have nothing planned.....just the way we like it!!!

Here Comes the Snow!!!

It started snowing here around 2:30 p.m. so by the time Ben got home from school he was ready to get into it. We are expecting 4-6 inches by tommorrow morning. The kids are hoping for a snow day and I think they may get it. Beau and Gabe were both sick today so a snow day would be good for them too......

Ali with her "Birthday Ice Cream" at Lonestar

Last night was Abby's last Home Freshman game. They played Pana and lost by 1 point. It was a very close, intense game. They did really well this season and Saturday they get to play in an Apollo Conference game and that will be the last game for the season. After the game we took Ali to Lonestar for her birthday dinner. Good food. Grandpa Bo joined us along with Ali's new "friend" Josh.

For those not in the area, we had about a 50 degree temperature change yesterday. The morning was bright and about 65 and by last night it was near 10 (with - wind chills)!!! Yesterday we had sun, wind, rain, sleet and snow....all in one day. I guess it's true what they say about Illinois "If you don't like the weather now, just wait a few hours it will change!!!". Crazy....and we are to get some snow Thursday night into Friday AM. The kids a hoping for a snow day.

Happy 18th Birthday Alicia!!!!

I can't believe our first born is now 18!! YIKES... We plan on going to Abby's last Freshman basketball game tonight then we are taking Ali out for her birthday dinner. Should be a good time.....

100 Days of School.....

Today was the 100th day of school!! Kindergarten really celebrates with everything surrounding the #100 (100 snacks, 100 counting, 100 everything!!!). Here is Gabe in his 100th hat he made. Good Job Gabe!!!!!

Poor Ben is Sick :(

Ben started coming down with a sore throat Friday and by Saturday AM he was feeling really bad. I think this is the first time in over 2 years he has been sick. I tried to take him to Marshall Clinic and Prompt Care but they both were closed so we headed to the ER. I really hate going to the ER just for a sore throat but with Brian still having a low immune system I did not want to wait. We did get right in and out of there in less then 30 minutes (which I think was a record for us!). While there Ben asked me if I brought my camera! Boy I sure have my kids trained, however I did not bring it. I did take a few on my phone camera so the quality is not really good. I would love to get a small point and shoot to keep in my purse for instances like this!! HINT, HINT Brian!!!! It's now Sunday and Ben is feeling really good and will be ok to go to school tommorrow.
